Spring Snow Melt and Drainage
News
Posted on March 20, 2026

Friday March 20th: As we welcome the spring weather and try to do our best managing spring melt please clear any vehicles from the slush laden roads if you can.

We do not have a foreman at the moment however, the Village is extremely lucky to have residents and skilled contractors; Glenn Korte, Jason Blechinger, Murray/Kim Loehr and Kevin Adair out to try to open the waterways up.

Feel free to call in and leave a message (if it is outside of business hours) if there are concern areas you have noted. These guys are taking their time to help us out so if you see them give them a thumbs up!

To help protect homes during the melt, residents are encouraged to take several preventative steps:

Rake remaining snow off roofs

Check eavestroughs and gutters for ice dams and remove debris

Shovel snow away from the foundation

Ensure yard grading slopes away from the home

Extend downspouts at least two metres from the foundation

Check sump pumps to ensure they are functioning properly

Monitor basements regularly for signs of water

Residents experiencing issues affecting their property or street can contact the Village through its email or by phone for assistance.
