Planned Public Works Road Construction May2024

Please note Kirsch Construction along with Village Public Works crews will be seen throughout the community May 14-May 31st executing the 2024 summer capital improvement plans. Council decided capital improvements requiring attention this summer included ditch shaping, road crowning, exposing manholes, adding gravel and adding dust suppressant. The crews know it will be a temporary inconvenience to navigate around their work but ask that traffic avoids the work areas whereever possible. Residents may need to temporarily access properties via alleys. Total project costs are budgeted at $250,000. Capital reserves are being used for this project work. No loans/debentures are anticipated to complete this work. We all look forward to the improvements and anticipate improved roads and drainage as the Village moves forward in its growth.

Tentative schedule, subject to change:

SaskPower and Tree Trimming/Pole Inspections:

SaskPower contractors are inspecting wood poles throughout the province this spring, summer, and fall. They will also perform some ground grid testing on rural overhead transformers and install wildfire protection on poles in high-risk areas in the north. No power outages are necessary for this work.

Their top priority is to ensure the health and safety of their customers, employees, and contractors, while maintaining power reliability. Crews will do their best to stay within the SaskPower right-of-way but may occasionally need to access private property. Please know that our contractors will be wearing high-visibility clothing, will carry identification, and their vehicles will be marked with their company logo.

The contractor for this work is Central Pole Inspections and Maintenance Inc.

Muenster residents may have observed crews removing tree branches that are in proximity to overhead lines. This is part of the work planned and orchestrated by SaskPower.
